IHSADA Awards

Criteria

• Ten (10) years as a High School and/or Middle School - Junior High Athletic/Activities Director.
• Active/past membership in the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association. Award winners must be members.
• Nominations must pertain to the district where school is located.
• Special contribution and accomplishments toward secondary athletics/activities in Iowa or the Nation.
• Will be awarded AD of the Year ring.

Procedure

• Nominees solicited at District Board meetings. Nomination forms published in the newsletter and/or the IHSADA website.
• Nominations announced at each District Meeting.
• Nomination approval at November Board meeting.

Current Year: 2024  (6/30/24 - 11/29/24)

IHSADA District Athletic Director of the Year, both at the High School and Middle School levels, are selected by District officers for outstanding service in Educational Athletics. This process is completed prior to the Fall meetings each year where the selections for each District are announced. The five District winners in each category are forwarded onto the IHSADA committee whom will select the State ADOY at the November meeting. To be eligible for the State level award, an individual must have a minimum of ten years of service as an active Athletic Director.
